Extranet Manager

Responsible for the management of Lifetime’s business to business Affiliate and Sales extranets.  Daily responsibilities include the management of all modifications to the site including enhancements, new designs, new features, and the creation of pages, graphics, promotional materials, and forms for this highly successful and mission critical site. Additionally responsible for user training, traffic/metrics analysis and industry competitive analysis.

Key Accomplishments

  • Directly managed two major site redesigns (2006, 2009).  This project involved extensive business analysis, requirements documentation, information architecture, usability design, and project management.  These redesigns resulted in an increase in traffic of 200%.
  • Deployed a cutting edge system to make Lifetime’s promotional videos available online via the Affiliate website.  This innovation drastically reduced the need to ship physical tapes to the affiliate resulting in a savings of over 100K/year.
  • Assisted in the launch Lifetime’s flagship consumer site www.mylifetime.com by creating extensive technical documentation of requested modules and writing reference and training materials for the user community on the use of the Drupal CMS. 

 

OXYGEN MEDIA, New York, New York · 1999-2002

  • Web Operations Support · 2002

Promoted to Web Operation Support.  Worked with developers and content producers in the packaging and promotion of new features and code.  Coordinated release schedule, quality assurance, and regression testing for all Oxygen Media properties. 

  • Traffic System Administrator · 2001

Promoted to the critical role of traffic systems administrator.  Responsibilities in this role included the daily management of the traffic and analytics systems for all Oxygen Media properties.  Functional duties included page analysis, user behavior analysis, predictive analysis, management reporting, and yield analysis.  Expertly applied innate organizational and taxonomy skills to structure actionable business intelligence for management.

  • Production Manager · 1999-2001 (Oxygen.com, MomsOnline.com)

Began with company as an early hire (employee # 78) with this innovative media start-up as a web producer for several of their online web properties. Managed a team of content and technical producers through the daily administration of the websites.  Responsibilities included all content and graphical production, CMS management, community management, product and project management, for these dynamic, highly trafficked and cutting edge sites.

Key Accomplishments

  • Through skillful management Oxygen.com and its network of sites grew to be one of the top 50 destination sites on the web from 1999-2001 generating in excess of 50M page views and 2M unique visitors per month.
  • Implemented a network wide traffic and analytics system allowing for content targeting and behavioral analysis.  Helped business managers to double increase traffic by 50% across all web properties through astute analysis and feedback. 
  • Created code release, production calendars, and quality assurance procedures for all websites reducing downtime and sites defects holistically across all web properties.  Under my direction Oxygen Media web properties acheived .9999 percent availability.

  • Intranet Webmaster · 1998-1999

Promoted to the role of Intranet Webmaster.  As intranet webmaster, set up USA Network’s first intranet.  Acted as the user liaison and evangelist for the site working with select users in each department get relevant content on the site; this involved hands-on training and writing extensive how-to documentation. 

  • IT Coordinator · 1995-1998

Oversaw all software, hardware, and equipment requests to the IT department. In charge of all budgeting, projection, ordering, setting up contracts with vendors, and maintaining the IT hardware and equipment budget, which was in excess of three million dollars. Brought in the only on target IT budget in 1997–98.

  • IT Secretary · 1994-1995

Entered USA Networks as a two-day temp, and a few months later was hired to replace the existing secretary.  Created completely new procedures for filing, documentation, budgeting, and liaison between head of department and subordinates as well as other departments.  Developed relations with other departments that eventually led to promotion to IT Coordinator and Intranet Webmaster.
